Gundam Unicorn episode 2 second promotion video (long version). The animation looks to be using a lot of shitty CG and crappy drawings. Looks like a bad flash video and those old fake Gundam unicorn trailers. Oh well. Full Frontal looks like he’s Char’s clone and definitely has Char’s same preachy voice.

Gundam Unicorn Episode 2 promo video. Episode 2 “The Red Comet” will be coming out in the fall of 2010.
Looks interesting. Well he’s some sort of Char look alike or maybe even a clone. The question is whether he’s an artificial newtype or natural newtype.

The story begins with the beginning of the Universal Century and the president giving a speech marking the momentous occasion in a grand event televised throughout the world. During the speech a mysterious terrorist type attack damages the space structure and subsequently explodes along with the president flying out into space along with everyone else. Siam Vist is on the outside doing something with a work crew on the space structure and as he is about to enter their ship, which is also starting to move away from the station, the explosion occurs. From the looks of it the ship seemed to be blown up with a bomb. Siam Vist’s flashback returns to the present where he is laying on his deathbed overseeing the earth. He asks Cardias Vist for forgiveness. Cardias Vist is his grandson and currently the caretaker of Laplace Box or the secret/special knowledge it holds.
Most of the storyline is cookie cutter Mobile Suit Gundam and Z Gundam. Not to mention the fact that the main character, Banagher Links, is just like Camille Vidan.
Extremely smart and technically talented student, Banagher Links/Camille Vidan (probably a newtype), got issues with his parents and at least one parent develops the mobile suit he gets into, both parents are dead or will die, infatuated with the wrong girl (Fa/Audrey), gets it on (fights) with another artificial newtype or newtype (Rosamia Badam/Marida Cruz).
Just slap in the Vist bloodline and the Laplace Box and boom! We got Gundam Unicorn.
I would probably give it a 3/5. If Banagher actually did some fighting I would give it a 4, but all he does is scream “get out of here” and let the mobile suit do its own thing with the full body psycho frame deflecting the funnel attack and transforming at the end into a Gundam.
My thoughts and speculation:
You would think if you were dropping down to your death in a colony and some guy saved you out of nowhere that you would be thankful or at least owe him your life. But of course Audrey is a Zeon princess… so that’s a big no. She’s on an important mission to prevent war and ask Cardias Vist to not entrust the Laplace Box to Zeon.
On the way to the Vist Mansion, Banagher gets into a scuffle with the special Zeon team there to pick up Audrey. I can only assume that Marida Cruz figures out very quickly he’s a newtype due to his reflexes when they fight.
Anyhow Cardias Vist is betrayed by Anaheim Electronics Alberto and probably some others. His main man, Gael, doesn’t get shown being shot, so I can only assume he’s still alive and part of the betrayal.
The NT-D system is the special system that operates the Unicorn Gundam. It apparently has a psycho frame body which at least can act like a shield or I-field. Now why would you make a mobile suit a key to something when it will be attacked or blown up? Anyways the Laplace Box reminds me of Gundam 00 and Veda and how their secrets and technology can easily wipe out the world if not used properly.
Gundam Unicorn is obviously out and about. If you don’t know how to find it anybody can probably just punch in the words in a torrent search and find it or go to an anime online streaming link site like Goodanime.net. If you love the show you should buy it or buy some gundam goods.
